Construction companies

AI automation for construction companies.

Spend less time on paperwork and more time on site. Bring project knowledge, quotations and reports together in reliable workflows that ease the pressure on your site management team.

The architecture and structural framework of a modern building with clean lines
LESS ROUTINE, MORE FOCUS

Quotations, daily site reports and queries take up valuable time every day. AI helps organise the work, while your site management team remains in control.

THE STARTING POINT

These are the challenges your team faces every day.

Quotations arrive in different formats, making line items and scopes of work difficult to compare.

Drawing revisions, emails and photos are scattered across multiple systems and folders.

Site management and commercial teams lose time on repetitive documentation.

PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS

Turn incoming information into results you can verify.

AI prepares and structures information and supports your team as they work. Your people always retain responsibility and make critical decisions.

USE CASE 01

Compare subcontractor quotations

INPUT / SYSTEM

The workflow uses email, PDF quotations and a bill of quantities.

AUTOMATION

Extract and match line items, and flag discrepancies.

RESULT

You receive a draft comparison with sources, while purchasing and site management make the final decision.

USE CASE 02

Daily site reports & photographic records

INPUT / SYSTEM

The workflow uses daily notes, photos and project files.

AUTOMATION

Collate project-specific information and draft a report.

RESULT

You receive a daily report with traceable sources for review, with no unsupported interpretations of photographs.

USE CASE 03

Route defect reports

INPUT / SYSTEM

The workflow uses a form, email or site report.

AUTOMATION

Suggest the trade, location and urgency.

RESULT

The relevant site manager receives a ticket, with approval required for critical priorities.

USE CASE 04

Email and RFI triage

INPUT / SYSTEM

The workflow uses project inbox and approved documents.

AUTOMATION

Sort queries and link relevant document passages.

RESULT

You receive a draft response with drawing revision details and sources; AI does not make technical decisions independently.

USE CASE 05

Pre-sort invoices

INPUT / SYSTEM

The workflow uses invoices and purchase order information.

AUTOMATION

Capture master data and flag duplicates and missing details.

RESULT

You receive a prepared checklist, while your staff retain sole responsibility for approving invoices.

USE CASE 06

Prepare handover records

INPUT / SYSTEM

The workflow uses checklists, outstanding items and approved reports.

AUTOMATION

Consolidate outstanding items and draft the record.

RESULT

The responsible project manager receives a draft they can verify.

EVERYDAY LIFE ON SITE

Put reliable project information at your site managers’ fingertips.

Once drawings, reports and photos come together, your team decides what happens next. AI prepares line items, queries and document references so your site managers can review and approve rather than search for everything themselves.

INTEGRATIONS & REALITY CHECK

Every good idea needs a solid technical foundation.

Before the pilot, I check ERP and document management interfaces, access rights, optical character recognition quality and whether documents can be reliably linked to projects. Current drawing revisions must be clearly identifiable. Unclear information is referred for review, never guessed. Technical and commercial approvals remain with your designated staff.

TWO EXAMPLES

Here is what getting started could look like.

All assumptions in these examples are for guidance only.

Example

This example considers a medium-sized construction company.

Compare quotations without copying and pasting

  1. Import 60 quotations each month from the project inbox.
  2. Match line items against the approved bill of quantities.
  3. Flag unclear items; purchasing reviews and decides.

Hypothetical assumptions

60 tasks / month × 45 minutes · 55 % automation · 65 % realisation · 65 € fully loaded internal hourly rate

16,1 h / monthtime you could free up
12.548 € / yearfinancial benefit before project and operating costs

Limitations: Different specifications, variations and drawing revisions require expert review. Time freed up does not automatically translate into payroll savings. Integration effort and error rates are not included in this simplified calculation.

Example

This example considers a main contractor with several sites.

Prepare daily site reports faster

  1. Collect 160 daily updates using verified templates.
  2. Create a project-specific summary with sources.
  3. Site management adds any special details and approves the report.

Hypothetical assumptions

160 tasks / month × 20 minutes · 50 % automation · 60 % realisation · 60 € fully loaded internal hourly rate

16 h / monthtime you could free up
11.520 € / yearfinancial benefit before project and operating costs

Limitations: Photographs alone cannot prove progress or the absence of defects. Any gaps in the data remain clearly identified. Time freed up does not automatically translate into payroll savings. Integration effort and error rates are not included in this simplified calculation.

THE PATH TO IMPLEMENTATION

I start with a controlled approach and develop the solution with you.

01
CLARITY

Identify opportunities

I get to know your process, assess your data and integrations, and prioritise what will make a real difference.

02
IMPLEMENTATION

Build a pilot

I implement a clearly defined workflow, put approvals and data privacy and security requirements in place, and test everything with your team.

03
IMPACT

Measure and scale

I assess quality and value, strengthen team adoption, and scale only what proves effective in day-to-day work.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

These answers help you make an informed assessment.

What does the EU AI Act mean for my business?

Since 2 February 2025, Article 4 of the EU AI Act requires businesses using AI systems such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot to ensure their employees have sufficient AI literacy. Practical, documented AI training is central to this, including for teams with no prior knowledge.

Where is AI automation genuinely worthwhile?

AI automation is most useful for recurring information tasks with sufficient volume, clear rules and accessible data. An opportunity check assesses benefits, risks and integration effort before you invest.

Do we need new software or our own AI model?

Not necessarily. Existing tools can often be usefully extended. Whether a workflow, knowledge assistant or agent is appropriate depends on the process, data protection and available interfaces.

What happens to our business data?

Data types, access rights, provider terms and retention are clarified before the pilot. Sensitive information belongs only in approved environments. This does not replace any necessary legal review.
